Who we are

What we collect

When you apply, we collect what you give us in the application: your name, contact details, date of birth, education, documents and answers. When you study or work here, we add your enrolment, grades and timetable. When you visit the website, we record basic technical data such as your browser and the pages you open.

Why we use it

We use your data to assess your application, run your studies, issue your degree and keep you informed about deadlines and events you signed up for. We use website data only to keep the site secure and to understand which pages people find useful.

Who sees it

Only the staff who need your data to do their work: admissions, your faculty and student services. We share data with outside parties only when the law requires it, or with service providers who work for us under contract, such as our email and hosting providers in Switzerland and the EU.

How long we keep it

Applications that do not lead to enrolment are deleted after two years. Student records are kept for as long as Swiss law requires, so that we can confirm your degree in the future.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted where the law allows. Write to privacy@gerstner.example and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
